Next eDemocracy Forum: October 16-17
The Worldwide Forum on e-Democracy and e-Government will be held in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Paris, France) on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 October 2008. Europe and the challenges of e-Governement 2.0 will be the main topic. Debates deal with European issues due to the imminent French presidency of the European Union and Franco-German due to the Franco-German ICT year.

Looks like a good start on the agenda. If there is a focus on European issues, is it worth considering what the EU can do online to create a European political identity.

I never see an acknowledgment in any of these events that representative democracy is worth a candle, or that people developing e-democracy approaches have any responsibility to ensure that representative democracy isn't diminished by their efforts.
