In the suburbs of Santiago de Chile, the district of
Estacion Central decided to make public services closer to the citizens
by creating mobile One Stop Shops that consists of four buses driving
around different parts of the district during specific days. The idea is
to provide the residents who are not connected to the Internet (only
45% of the population is connected to the Internet, according to
Internet World Stats) with the opportunity to access as many
administrative services online as possible. This is an effective way of
fighting the digital divide.
